What is Logo Design?
A business logo design, at its very basic, is a symbol that helps to a identify brand. A good logo should be the cornerstone of your company and represent what you want to convey about yourself in just a symbol or mark—most logos consist of a symbol or some type of brandmark, font type(s), as well as a tagline (if you have one).
We know designing a logo for your company is not easy. Essentially you have to be able to capture the essence of who you are and what you do in one simple image. That’s why we put our experience, passion, and creativity into every logo we make to help you. Our team of expert designers gets to know your brand inside out before they even touch their computer keyboard or start sketching ideas on paper—developing a deep understanding of who you are as a company and how best to express this through your new branding identity.

Newbird’s Logo Design Approach
At Newbird, every business logo design is a careful process—one that takes insight, understanding, and thought-provoking ideas. It’s truly an art to create something that should be timeless, simple yet memorable for your brand’s image so it can function correctly, while also being easily recognizable in different settings or at varying sizes. Oh, and helping you to stand out against other brands vying to capture the attention of the same target audiences.
During the discovery phase, we’ll learn more about your business: its products and your customers. Each new logo design project will start with a creative brief to clarify who you and your business are, as well as your goals for the logo. It’s important for us, as designers of logos and brands, that we can create something that best fulfills all expectations.
Once the creative brief is complete, our next step is further research and development. We’ll dig deep into your business to ensure that we’re leaving no stone unturned before we dive into design. This means researching competitors’ logos—we don’t want to mimic anything out on the market already, as well we’ll want to understand where you stand among other brands within your industry and how this will affect the way people perceive your business or products.
Logo sketching begins with careful consideration from the research of your brand. We’ll start to rough out icons that have the potential for the logo design, often designing several variations to show what could work well within a certain font or color scheme. Once we have reviewed them with you and made some top selections, we’ll transfer those designs onto the computer where the vector artwork will begin.
We’ll start narrowing down the concepts to those that function best for your brand. As we present logos in a pdf format, we’ll share how each idea was thought through, as well as suggested brand color variations. After there has been time for feedback, the final logo design comes to life, ready to make its mark in the New York market.
